More info

The Helly Hansen Pace Block Jacket

A lightweight, high-performance running jacket built for ambitious runners who don’t let cooler days keep them inside. The lightweight X-Cool quick-dry fabric sheds wind and rain while the added underarm laser-cut ventilation disperses heat during high-intensity sessions. The interior flock print adds better air circulation and comfort.

  • X-Cool quick dry fabric will cool you down when performing high intensity activity.
  • Strategically placed ventilation so you'll stay cool and dry where it matters the most.
  • The all-over flock print lining gives you extra air circulation, more comfort when sweating and prevents the lightweight fabric from sticking to your skin.

Here's what the HH sales pitching "ambassador" has to say:

  • X-Cool quick-dry fabric
  • Wind-block fabric
  • Laser-cut ventilation at back
  • Quick-dry mesh ventilation under arms
  • 360-degree reflectivity
  • Elastic waist band
  • Chest key pocket (note: unlike the earlier pace jacket this has no side pockets)
  • Articulated arms for enhanced movement
  • Mock neck
  • HH® logo on chest
  • YKK® quality zippers
  • Bluesign®-approved fabrics

Sizing / Measuring

I think Helly Hansen are pushing it in terms of sizing. They say the chest size is:

Large: 41.5" - 43.5"

I would say:

Large: 41" - 43" (Max)

If you're not using for its intended purpose and are likely to have a winter base layer underneath then I would say that 42" is likely to be your max. In addition, if you're backpacking and clambering up mountains you're likely to need that bit of extra movement around the shoulder area than if you're just running.
