Privacy Policy

Customer Data

The information you provide to this site will not be disclosed to any other party or be used for any other purposes than those stated.

GP-NET is committed to keeping your details private. We do not release your details to third parties save as required by law. If you provide us with information either by registering with us or e-mailing an enquiry to us then this information will only be used to:

  • Process your orders
  • Contact you if there are any queries in relation to your orders
  • [If in the future we provide a newsletter and you've chosen to receive it] Send you that newsletter
Any such newsletter would contain a standard opt out.

You agree that you do not object to us contacting you for any of these reasons and that you do not consider this to be a breach of your rights under the Telecommunications (Data Protection and Privacy) Regulations 1999 and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

We may need to share your information with third parties, such as delivery companies or credit card companies, in relation to your order or because we are required to do so by law. We will not provide your Personal Information to any third party for any commercial purposes unrelated to processing your order. All PayPal transactions are subject to the PayPal Privacy Policy.

If you've agreed to receive information from us regarding our products and services and would like these communications to stop then please contact us.

If you have made an order or have an account with GP-NET, you can request to see, change or remove your personal information at any time by simply contacting us via our contact form.  Select Webmaster from the "Subject Heading" drop-down and type "Privacy" in the "Order reference" box. Tell us your name and what you'd like us to do in the "message" section.

Cookies

This site, like all online shopping sites requires cookies for shopping cart and site functionality. However, we don't think cookies should be used for spying (including multi-session marketing analysis) and for that reason, we recommend that users accept cookies but keep them only while the browser is open. For example: Firefox > Options > Privacy > Accept cookies - Keep until I close Firefox. This way e-commerce sites function but any historical analysis / tracking data is removed.

If you regularly flush your cookies and cache (sensible for privacy purposes) you might consider a useful browser add-on called: "I Don't Care About Cookies" which will prevent these incessant EU cookie notices from spoiling your browsing experience.

Server Logs

Our site automatically generates log files. These files contain anonymous information such as: date and time, IP address, domain name, browser type and operating system, referrer URL, object requested and completion status of the request. We use log files to measure visitor activity, to prevent security breaches and to hopefully improve our site. Such log files are periodically deleted.

Social Media Spying

GP-NET regards most social media as merely the data mining industry's attempt to suck up every last bit of everyone's personal data. For this reason all social media functionality on this site has been switched off. If you find any evidence of tracking or background social network activity please contact us via the contact form and we'll investigate the issue and, where technically possible, remedy it.

Acceptance of this Privacy Policy

Use of this site is deemed to demonstrate acceptance of this privacy policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use this site. We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to change, modify, add, or remove portions of this policy at any time. Please check this page periodically for any modifications. Your continued use of the GP-NET website following the posting of any changes to these terms shall mean that you have accepted those changes.

Please note that GP-NET is not responsible for the privacy policies or content of third party sites.
