DAC are synonymous with ultralight tent design. Nordisk, Hilleberg, MSR, Nemo, Terra Nova, Sierra Designs (and many many more) all use DAC poles in their lightweight offerings. The reason is simple, they're the best performing ultralight poles available. In addition they're also the most environmentally friendly due to their anodizing process (traditionally a toxic and filthy operation) which negates the need for nitric and phosphoric acid.
The DAC NR 140 degree Joint Arch Connector's intended purpose is to join 9mm poles together at a 140 degree angle for tent setups. However, it works exceptionally well as anchor point for connecting poles to tarps. Scramble's UL Micro tarp has Dyneema attachment points and these are easily looped through the DAC NR Arch Connector and hook onto its protrusion.
For those who don't use walking poles (UL backpackers, bike packers etc) and/or take a minimalist approach this connector, combined with the DAC Featherlite NSL 9mm poles provide a superb accompaniment to a lightweight tarp + bivvie setup.

Intended Use:
The NR Joint was developed to replace a wide variety of aluminum arch connectors that have been in common use. It can be used for several different diameter poles. Used with the H Clip, the NR Joint can fix the location of the top of the inner tent, which allows wider headroom and additional strength. The NR Joint can also be used to stop rotation of tent poles, when used with oval shape tubes.
